Baptism is simply the outward expression of the inward change that Jesus Christ has brought about in our lives. When we are submerged and raised up out of the water, we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It symbolises the washing away of our old life of sin and stepping into the new life that Christ offers us. 


Jesus Himself was baptised when He was on earth, and we do this as a step of obedience toward Him.
